 Music City plans to open a new, state-of-the-art tradeshow and meeting facility in 2013. Music City Center will be located in downtown Nashville, TN. The facility will have approximately 375,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, a 60,000-sq.-ft. ballroom, an 18,500-sq.-ft. junior ballroom and approximately 60 meeting rooms along with a 300-seat lecture hall.
“We will now have two world-class facilities, one in the urban area, which will be the Music City Center, and the all-under-one-roof Gaylord Opryland facility. We truly will give meeting planners multiple options when coming to Nashville,” said Charles Starks, executive director of the Nashville Convention Center.
Music City Center will enable Nashville to attract approximately 75% of all tradeshows in the United States. While construction details are still in the planning phase, Starks said the facility will be LEED certified with all of the latest technology. Music City Center will have a 1000-room convention center hotel adjacent to the convention center and will be designed to have multiple production locations to further enhance the music in the center.
According to Nick Stammler, general manager of the George Fern Company’s Nashville office, the new convention center will reaffirm Nashville as a first-class destination city while showcasing Nashville’s downtown area as a popular draw and vibrant part of the city’s success.
